COVID-19 Relief 2021- Basic needs assistance for Eastern elders and special needs homes

LetUsHelpNow Foundation assessed and assisted two elders homes and two special needs homes in Eastern Sri Lanka with food, medicine, wheel chairs, furniture, equipment and play equipment structures.

St Joseph Elders Home, Batticaloa cares for 20 female and 23 male elders.  We provided LKR 100,000 to help purchase dry food and medicine during the COVID-19 emergency.

St Joseph Elders Home, Trincomalee cares for 20 female and 10 male elders.  We provided LKR 240,000 to purchase a hot water tank, three cabinets, electric fans, and a printer.  

Annai Theresa Home (also known as Karunai Home), Trincomalee cares for 57 special needs women between the ages of 28 and 85.  We provided LKR 203,895 to the vendors to provide three wheelchairs, dry food and medicine that they urgently needed.

Ozanam Centre, Batticaloa supports 22 female and 5 male special needs people between the ages of 7 and 40.  Some children from this home like to play on the swing most of the day.  The home wanted to provide a tent-like structure over the swings to shield the children from the intense sun’s heat.  Further, they wanted to make two washrooms accessible and wanted to add six rails surrounding beds to prevent people from falling.  We provided LKR 200,000 to help the home with the above needs.

The budget for the July projects was LKR 821,405.  The funds were donated by 107 LetUsHelpNow contributors from Canada, Australia and the United Kingdom. We obtain a minimum two quotes for purchases, and seek to deliver when possible.  The receipts and thank you letters provided by the homes were shared with the donors and published online.

புனித யோசேப்பு மூத்தோர் இல்லம், மட்டக்களப்பு . இங்கு  20 பெண்களும் 23 ஆண்களுமாக 43 மூத்தோர்கள் பாராமரிக்கப்பட்டு  வருகிறார்கள். இவர்களுக்கு கோவிட் நோயச்ச கால நிவாரணமாக மருத்துவ பொருட்கள் மற்றும் உலர் உணவுப்பொருட்கள் வாங்குவதற்கான நிதியாக ரூபா 100,000 இல்ல வங்கிக்கணக்கில் வைப்பிலிடப்பட்டது.

புனித யோசேப்பு மூத்தோர் இல்லம், திருகோணமலை. இங்கு  20 பெண்களும் 10 ஆண்களுமாக 30 மூத்தோர்கள் பாராமரிக்கப்பட்டு  வருகிறார்கள். இவர்களுக்கு மூன்று அலுமாரிகள், சுடுநீர் தாங்கி, மின்விசிறிகள்  மற்றும் அச்சுப்பொறி வாங்குவதற்கான நிதியாக ரூபா 240,000 இல்ல வங்கிக்கணக்கில் வைப்பிலிடப்பட்டது.

கருணை இல்லம் ( அன்னை தெரசா இல்லம்) லிங்கநகர், திருகோணமலை. இங்கு தற்போது 57 மனநிலை பாதிப்புற்ற பெண்கள்  பாராமரிக்கப்பட்டு  வருகிறார்கள். இவர்கள் 28 வயது முதல் 85 வயதுடையோர். இவர்களின் அத்தியாவசிய தேவையாக இருந்த சக்கர நாற்காலிகள் மூன்று , மருத்துவ பொருட்கள் மற்றும் உலர் உணவுப்பொருட்கள் வாங்கி இல்லத்திற்க்கு வழங்கப்பட்டன. இதற்கான நிதி ரூபா 203,895 வினியோகத்தகருக்கு வழங்கப்பட்டது.

ஓசானாம் விசேட தேவையுள்ளோருக்கான நிலையம், மட்டக்களப்பு. இங்கு தற்போது 22 பெண்களும் 5 ஆண்களுமாக 27 பயணர்கள் பாராமரிக்கப்பட்டு  வருகிறார்கள். இவர்கள் ஏழு வயது முதல் நாற்பது வயதுடையோர். இவர்கள் இங்குள்ள சிறுவர்களில் சிலர் நாள் முழுவதும் ஊஞ்சல் ஒன்றில் இருப்பதை விரும்புவதால் வெய்யில் பாடாதவாறு இருக்க ஓரு கூடாரம் ஒன்றை அமைக்கவும்,  ஆறு கட்டிலை சுற்றி பாதுகாப்பு அரண்கள் செய்யவும், இரண்டு கழிப்பறைகளை மாற்றுத்திறனாளிகளின் பாவனைக்காக மேம்படுத்தவும் உதவி கோரியிருந்தனர். இதற்கான நிதி ரூபா 200,000 இல்ல வங்கிக்கணக்கில் வைப்பிலிடப்பட்டது.

இம்மாத செயற்றிட்ட நிதியான ரூபா 821,405 அறம் செய்வோம் அறக்கட்டளையின் கனடா, அவுஸ்திரேலியா, பிரித்தானியாவில் வாழும் 107 தன்னார்வ நண்பர்களால் வழங்கப்பட்டது. இல்லத்தின் உத்தியோகபூர்வ பற்றுச்சீட்டும் நன்றிக்கடிதமும் பெறப்பட்டு நன்கொடையாளர்களிடம் பகிரப்பட்டதுடன் அறக்கட்டளையின் இணையத்தளத்திலும் பகிரப்பட்டுள்ளது.
